About Mom's Resin Tables

Every piece is built by hand in Safety Harbor, Florida — one table at a time, with real wood and real craft.

The Story

Mom's Resin Tables started with a single pour and a passion for working with reclaimed and rare wood species. What began as a personal project grew into a full custom workshop offering one-of-one tabletop designs and configured custom builds for dining tables, coffee tables, desks, and specialty pieces.

Every slab is hand-selected. Every resin pour is mixed, placed, and cured to specification. Every piece leaves the studio with a high-build polyurethane top coat for lasting durability. No two pieces are the same — that's the point.

What We Use

Wood species vary by availability — we work with live-edge slabs, reclaimed hardwoods, and specialty exotic cuts. If a specific species isn't available during your build window, we coordinate with you before production begins. Resin systems are selected for clarity, color stability, and UV resistance. Top coats are high-build polyurethane unless a different finish is specified in a custom order.

Frequently Asked Questions

General questions about our studio, process, and products.

Where are the tables made?
Every piece is built by hand in Safety Harbor, Florida. This is a home studio operation — not a factory. Each tabletop receives direct attention from the same craftsperson at every stage of production, from the first slab selection through the final top coat application.
Are the products truly one-of-one?
Yes. Every ready-made piece listed in the shop is a unique, unrepeatable design. Wood grain, resin flow, and coloration cannot be duplicated exactly. Custom orders are built to your specifications but the organic nature of wood and resin means each outcome carries its own character. We do not mass produce.
Do you sell table bases?
Bases shown in product photos are display examples only and are not included in the listed price. We do offer base add-ons through the Custom Builder, including hairpin legs, A-frame steel bases, and slab-style bases. Base pricing is quoted separately based on your tabletop dimensions and chosen style.
What kinds of wood species do you typically use?
We work with a broad range of domestic hardwoods — walnut, maple, cherry, oak, ash, and hickory — as well as exotic species like padauk, purpleheart, wenge, sapele, and ebony when available. Live-edge slabs with natural bark edge are also available on select pieces and commissions.
What finish do the tables receive?
All tabletops are finished with a high-build polyurethane top coat unless a different finish is requested in a custom order. This provides a durable, waterproof surface that protects both the wood and resin. We offer matte, satin, and gloss sheen options. Raw oil or penetrating finishes are available by request.
How do I care for my resin tabletop?
Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight exposure to prevent UV discoloration of the resin over time. Do not place hot pots or pans directly on the surface without a trivet. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive pads. The polyurethane coating is tough but benefits from occasional reapplication every few years in high-use environments.
